FISA Fiasco

The DOJ released the 2016 FISA application allowing the Obama Administration to spy on Carter Page (and ultimately much of the Trump campaign).  The document is so heavily redacted that most pages contain no readable content.  Redactions are supposedly to protect sensitive material that could jeopardize national security.  However it appears that the extent of redactions are simply to cover up FBI corruption at the highest levels of the agency.  After James Comey exonerated Hillary Clinton despite her numerous crimes (storing classified material on a personal home server, obstructing justice by destroying devices and bleaching hard drives, and then lying to the FBI) the agency was already distrusted by most Americans.  To further destroy their credibility the FBI failed to  verify the so-called Steele dossier funded by Hillary Clinton and the DNC.  According to the dossier Carter Page (identified as a Trump advisor) was believed to be coordinating with the Russian government in a conspiracy to influence the 2016 election.  Donald Trump had never met with Carter Page during the campaign so it is difficult to believe how there could have been any collusion between our President and the Russians.  One section of the 412 pages that escaped redaction reads, “The FBI has reviewed this verified application for accuracy in accordance with its April 5, 2001 procedures, which include sending a copy of the draft to the appropriate field office(s).”  That is an outright lie; but then under the Obama Administration lying by government officials was standard operating procedure.  Indeed there was no integrity among any members of Obama’s most trusted associates.  The courts were never informed of this “minor detail” of verification of the information within the FISA application.  The FBI and DOJ also failed to inform the courts that funding for the Steele dossier coincidentally came from Hillary Clinton and the DNC.  Andrew McCarthy a former Chief Assistant U.S. Attorney, called “foul” over the FISA warrants and suggested that the judges who approved the initial and subsequent warrants be questioned as to why the warrants were approved.  In the applications, the Steele dossier was listed as document #1 due to its apparent importance to the application.  If the facts were known to the judges regarding “document #1”  it is doubtful that the initial (or subsequent) FISA warrants would have been approved.

Adam Schiff, a die-hard critic of the President, believes the released 412 nearly black pages “proved” collusion and therefore the FISA warrants were justified.  We may never know how great a role the false dossier played in the warrants.  Several prominent Republicans suggested that the President “declassify” the applications allowing those with proper security clearances to view the entire document.  The entire Mueller investigation is based on a bunch of allegations that the corrupt DOJ wished to take place in an attempt to delegitimize the Trump Presidency.  The constant attacks on our President would have paralyzed the average person.  Fortunately President Trump has the self-esteem and inner strength to move forward and restore America to its rightful place in the world.  With the economy on the rise, Trump 2020 looks better than ever.
